I finally tried a guitar in a store... LOL cause it was a cheap Starcaster in Best Buy and no one could hear me... but it was fun.

The adult night is on indefinite hold now, there aren't enough paying people to make it worth while. I knew it was coming but it still feels a bit like being broken up with. My first band, that wasn't even really technically a band, has broken up. I'm trying not to cry. I really enjoyed hanging out with the other grown-ups and playing music with them. Just being able to get away for an evening and be an adult and talk music was cool enough. It's been so depressing to have to just go home the last few weeks. But I still have my private lessons and this week in addition to the fingerpicking piece from last week I'm supposed to tackle barre chords in the form of "Smoke On The Water". Yeah, that won't drive the kids nuts. :-)

CCR and other things

No jam tonight because there weren't enough people... spring break and all that...so all i had was my private lesson. Kind of a letdown, but the Little has had half days this week and the Big One full days, so I've spent a fair amount of time practicing. Nice to just sit on the couch with the acoustic/electric anyway. She's alot of fun, and really sounds nice with the classical piece Match had me doing this week. I practiced that, and "Hey Jude", and "Bad Moon Rising" (for RF). I'm getting the CCR song pretty good now. The struming pattern took a bit but i found some guy online who made it easy enough and just kept trying. So I have another week to practice those, and The Doors "Love Her Madly" before we play again. It's almost better, but i really miss playing.
